Provide the information that shapes the scope
Include water analysis, required flow and treated-water quality. Add operating hours, available pressure and utilities, installation space and any existing equipment. Distinguish equipment supply from design, installation, commissioning and servicing. For component sourcing, provide the model, dimensions, connection and rating instead of relying on a product name alone.
A quotation checklist should expose unknowns early
A clear quotation brief identifies both the known requirement and the information still to be confirmed. Include source water, application, flow, final quality and operating schedule. Add site utilities, space and any existing equipment. Separate equipment supply from design, installation and service responsibilities so proposals can be compared on the same basis.
| Requirement | What to compare | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Known process requirements | Provide source, application and quality target | Attach complete water reports where available |
| Known site conditions | Provide space, utilities and access | Include photographs and existing equipment |
| Unknown design inputs | Identify missing measurements or assumptions | Agree how they will be established |
A selection mistake to avoid
Make unknown values explicit before comparing quotations. A product list cannot resolve an undefined source, flow requirement or treatment objective.
What if the customer cannot provide every design value?
Describe the water uses and existing arrangement, and identify which values are unknown. The review can determine what further analysis or measurements are needed.
Planning the enquiry in Sabah
State the project location, access conditions and desired implementation period. Enquiries from Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau or other Sabah locations should describe the actual site so logistics and service scope can be reviewed. SWFI can assess water-treatment and selected equipment enquiries, subject to suitability and availability. Compare quotations using the same agreed requirement and retain the accepted specification.
Information to prepare
- Source, analysis, flow and final quality target
- Site conditions and existing equipment
- Supply boundary, location and project timing
What if the required flow is unknown?
Describe the water uses, operating schedule and existing equipment. The enquiry can identify which measurements or design inputs need to be established.
Discuss your requirement with SWFI
Share your site location and the information listed above. SWFI can review the requirement; equipment selection, supply and service scope are subject to technical suitability and confirmation.
