Record the installed configuration
Prepare the equipment list, drawings, valve positions and instrument identities. Verify the installation against the approved scope and the equipment instructions. Record the measured operating conditions and the water-quality checks relevant to the process. Note any differences between design assumptions and the site conditions observed during commissioning.
Commissioning checks should be tied to acceptance criteria
Commissioning should show that the installed equipment and process operate against the agreed scope. Separate mechanical completion, operating checks and water-quality acceptance. A flow instrument can verify one part of the duty, while conductivity or other measurements address different process questions. Identify which instruments and sampling points support the actual acceptance criteria instead of collecting readings without a defined purpose.
| Requirement | What to compare | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Installation completion | Confirm configuration and connections | Record deviations from the approved scope |
| Operating duty | Check relevant flows and pressures | Use identified instruments and units |
| Water-quality acceptance | Check the agreed parameters | Record sampling points and operating context |
A selection mistake to avoid
A pass on one instrument is not a pass on every process requirement. Keep the acceptance record linked to the full agreed specification.
What should the handover pack contain?
The installed equipment list, operating baseline, relevant manuals, consumable identities, maintenance requirements and outstanding items, with responsibilities clearly recorded.
Planning the enquiry in Sabah
Include the operations team in the handover. They need to know normal settings, alarm responses, consumable identities and when to seek service support. Retain baseline readings so future performance can be compared with the same measurement points. SWFI project enquiries can include commissioning and documentation requirements as part of the scope to be reviewed.
Information to prepare
- Approved scope, drawings and equipment records
- Operating readings and agreed water-quality checks
- Handover instructions and outstanding items
Should acceptance criteria be decided after start-up?
They should be agreed beforehand, with any necessary changes documented. This makes the final assessment clear to both the project team and operator.
Discuss your requirement with SWFI
Share your site location and the information listed above. SWFI can review the requirement; equipment selection, supply and service scope are subject to technical suitability and confirmation.
