Home Water Filtration System

A home filtration plan starts with the water source and the purpose of treatment. Whole-home filtration treats water at the entry point, while a point-of-use system serves a specific outlet. For a Sabah household, these arrangements solve different problems and may need to be considered separately.

Identify where treatment is needed

Write down whether the concern involves sediment throughout the house, a particular kitchen outlet or another measured water-quality issue. Then compare the documented capabilities of the proposed equipment. A whole-home vessel is not automatically a complete drinking-water treatment system. Likewise, a small kitchen filter does not manage demand from every bathroom and utility point.

Whole-home filtration and kitchen treatment

An entry-point filter serves the water distributed around the home. A kitchen filter serves a particular outlet. The two positions let treatment be matched to where it is needed, but they are not evidence of equivalent performance. First identify the water-quality objective, then decide whether it applies throughout the property or only at a drinking or preparation point.

A selection mistake to avoid

Do not assume that an outdoor vessel establishes the required drinking-water quality at every tap. The complete treatment and distribution arrangement must be appropriate.

Can the same household need more than one treatment position?

Yes, where the duties differ. For example, an entry-point particle-filtration requirement and a specific kitchen treatment requirement should be assessed separately.

Planning the enquiry in Sabah

Map the incoming line, storage tank and pump before selecting equipment. Include the number of outlets used simultaneously and the space available for servicing. Plan cartridge or media replacement according to the selected equipment and actual use. Send these details to SWFI for a suitability review, rather than choosing a system solely by the number of stages advertised.

Information to prepare

Do all homes in Sabah need the same filter?

No. Water source, building plumbing, intended use and measured quality vary. Selection should be based on the individual requirement.
