Separate vessel specification from treatment performance
A vessel needs a stated pressure rating, suitable connections and compatible internal components. Media selection then establishes the intended treatment duty. Stainless steel does not make all water-treatment objectives interchangeable. Where the water or installation environment raises material concerns, supply the relevant analysis and site details for review against the specific vessel datasheet.
Stainless housing with media or membrane treatment
Two stainless steel outdoor filters can have different treatment internals. One can house media, while another uses a membrane element. The material and installation position may look similar without establishing equivalent function. Check the selected unit’s internal arrangement, service and cleaning requirements, and the particular water-quality objective before comparing models.
| Requirement | What to compare | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Stainless media filter | Select the correct media and bed | Plan backwash water and drainage |
| Stainless membrane unit | Review the element and feed limits | Plan its documented cleaning method |
| Industrial stainless vessel | Review exact model design limits | Coordinate internals, connections and controls |
A selection mistake to avoid
Do not apply a media-filter cleaning procedure to a membrane product merely because both housings are stainless steel.
Is SS1034 the same system type as a hollow-fibre filter?
The SS1034/SS1049/SS1099 listing describes control-valve and media configurations. Membrane listings describe a different internal treatment arrangement. Confirm the exact supplied configuration.
Planning the enquiry in Sabah
SWFI’s stainless steel filter page describes vessel options and media configurations. Request the current model documentation instead of transferring a specification from one size to another. Include the pipe connection, operating pressure, available backwash flow and service space. For replacement projects, send photographs and the existing nameplate so the proposed scope can be checked.
Information to prepare
- Steel grade and vessel design documentation
- Operating pressure, connections and media
- Exposure, backwash supply and servicing space
Does stainless steel remove contaminants by itself?
No. The vessel houses the treatment components. The selected media and complete process determine the treatment function.
Discuss your requirement with SWFI
